Perhaps because he was never their homegrown hero or because they had suspected he was leaving all along, the Miami Heat and its fans reacted a bit differently than Cleveland did four years ago upon hearing the news that LeBron James is leaving Miami.
Shortly after his decision was public, Heat owner Micky Arison took to Twitter to thank James for the memories.
I am shocked & disappointed in today’s news. However I will never forget what Lebron brought us for 4 years. Thanks for memories @KingJames

He was joined by people Miami radio host Dan LaBatard and Florida Senator Marco Rubio with classy responses to the news.
Good for LeBron. Hugely grateful for last four years. Even the last 10 days have been amazing fun. You won’t hear a negative syllable here

Thank you to @KingJames for giving us 4 great years! Wish you much success back home in Ohio.
I’m not a big fan of Rubio, ehm at all, but I do like the classy responds. Especially from the Heat’s owner Micky Arison, That’s just plain classy
